This post is going to be health updates and all the little things that have happened, I have given up on telling you all about Christmas. If I can get this out in good time then I will be all caught up. I have the next couple days off work, therefore I have no excuse to not buckle down. I think I will start with some health things I haven't shared. HEEHEE... well I did not buckle down.... it is now March. I got very sick in Feb. and other than work and barely getting by at home I did nothing. So now I will catch you up on all the things.
James broke his wrist. Okay, Okay it wasn't actually broken but we thought it might be for two weeks. James was taking our son to his new activity, jiu jitsu! I am sure you are all aware how icy it has been over the last couple months. Well he slipped on the ice and fell on his wrist. HAHA- finally it was not me! I am proud to say that I have not had an injury due to klutziness in a year now! Any way back the the story. The stubborn man did not go to the hospital. I was like umm excuse me, you should definitely go since it hurts to move it. Even if it is just a sprain. The doctor said based on the pain location, although no break showed on the x-ray, there is a tiny bone that does not show on x-ray until it show calcification of the break(takes two weeks). Guess who got a cast and could not move his thumb at all for two weeks?
This guy:

Now the good news was that it was indeed not broken, so after the check-in x-ray he got the cast off. He saw his doctor for a scope in his small intestine(to make sure his crohns hasn't appeared there) and he said he had a moment of panic when he saw the admitting to the ER. Then he saw what it was for. James numbers have been quite good. He has had some ups and downs but nothing major. He is now off most of his meds and suppliments. He now only takes his immunosuppression and vitamin D. Hopefully if things go well over the next month they may even lower the meds more. Further updates coming in post to immediately follow this one. Spoiler: all good news!
My health has overall been good, minus getting all the viruses that seem to thrive in a school setting. I have currently been suffering for 2 and half weeks from a cold. Today I even have laryngitis. Thankfully my voice has not given out fully and does have moments of coming back almost fully! Here's hoping I don't get bronchitis for the first time in over 5 years(had it at least once a year every year before that). I will say that I never fully realized how much my monthly cycle affected me and how many weeks a month it made everything harder. Overall things have really been good. HaHa this was before the case of Hives. Turns out you can have a histamine reaction to viruses..... 5 days of intense itchiness and it went away!

Now maybe we will move onto the chickens. We lost our first chicken, not by either a coyote or Odin, it seems to have died from the extreme cold that we have had over the last few weeks. It is strange as it wasn't the smallest or even the ones that have been struggling to keep their feathers. The rest still look good, so hopefully we won't lose anymore. Our dogs are doing well. I think they will all, dogs and chickens, enjoy the warmer weather over the next few weeks. The rest have been doing well and we are back into full egg production. Fingers crossed we don't get a cold snap!
I think that is all the updates I can think of but I am starting to feel a little brain dead now. I will leave it here. If there is more following this paragraph I probably found inspiration. I did not find inspiration... But I am back and healthy from all the viruses. I will have a post to follow this one. Gardening content to follow in the next couple weeks too as that gets started!
